MGM Resorts Selects ‘Las Vegas Aces’ as New Name for WNBA Franchise
MGM Resorts International recently announced that its WNBA franchise will be called the Las Vegas Aces. Las Vegas’ first major professional basketball team – formerly the San Antonio Stars – will begin play in its new home in the 2018 season. Las Vegas Aces President of Basketball Operations and Head Coach Bill Laimbeer was joined by MGM Resorts President Bill Hornbuckle and WNBA President Lisa Borders to reveal the team’s name and logo at a news conference at Mandalay Bay. Frank Sinatra’s Granddaughter AJ Lambert Launches Monthly Las Vegas Residency
For the first time ever, multi-talented songstress and Frank Sinatra’s granddaughter, AJ Lambert will perform in Las Vegas with a monthly residency at The Space beginning Friday, Jan. 12. AJ will rotate between performing two of her grandfather’s albums – the 1955 pioneering concept album “In The Wee Small Hours,” as well as his 1958 album, “Only The Lonely.” In this show, AJ shares her deeply intimate recollections of her grandfather Frank Sinatra, as only she can, while singing the iconic albums in their entirety with a voice all her own. The stripped-down presentation of Nelson Riddle’s classic arrangements (with piano accompaniment by John Boswell) allows for a rare opportunity for intimacy with these incredible pieces of American music. LAS RAGEOUS Music Festival Returns to Downtown Las Vegas
After a successful debut in 2017, which drew rock and metal fans from around the world with sellout crowds of 10,000 each day, Las Rageous returns for its second year on Friday, April 20 and Saturday, April 21. The two-day music festival created by Live Nation will take over two square blocks, in the heart of iconic downtown Las Vegas at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center, and will feature performances from A Perfect Circle, Five Finger Death Punch, Ghost, Judas Priest, and more, on two stages. Earth, Wind & Fire Launch First Las Vegas Residency
Legendary music group Earth, Wind & Fire announced a very special limited engagement at The Venetian Theatre inside The Venetian® Las Vegas. China Lights Festival Coming to Craig Ranch Regional Park
The Sichuan Tianyu Culture Communication Co. Ltd., in cooperation with Zigong City and the Sichuan Provincial Department of Commerce, recently announced that world-class China Lights lantern festival will debut in North Las Vegas as part of a cultural trade mission. From Jan. 19 through Feb. 25, Craig Ranch Regional Park will be illuminated with 40 larger-than-life lantern displays, comprised of more than 1,000 components using state-of-the-art LEDs and animation. Renegades Debuts at Cleopatra’s Barge at Caesars Palace
The rebels of sports are taking over the Las Vegas Strip with Renegades, a new interactive and totally unique show. Opening Thursday, Jan. 25 inside Cleopatra’s Barge, the intimate 180-seat theater at Caesars Palace, Renegades gives sports fans an up-close and personal experience with three of their favorite sports stars. The starting line-up includes baseball great Jose Canseco and two-time Super Bowl champion Jim McMahon. The Fab Five’s Jimmy King will appear during the first eight shows, with six-time NFL Pro Bowler Terrell Owens taking over starting Thursday, Feb. 8.
