Thunderbirds Flyover LVSign

In partnership with the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA),  the Thunderbirds soared over Las Vegas on Saturday evening as Southern Nevada continued its America250 celebration.

Departing from their longtime home at Nellis Air Force Base, the Thunderbirds' iconic six-aircraft delta formation flew over landmarks and neighborhoods across the Las Vegas Valley before making a pass over Hoover Dam.

The flyover marked the first time since 2020 that the Thunderbirds' renowned delta formation flew over Las Vegas, paying tribute to Southern Nevada's role in America's story as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary.

The flight path included:

  • The Las Vegas Strip
  • North Las Vegas VA Medical Center
  • Lone Mountain
  • Las Vegas Ballpark
  • Red Rock Canyon
  • Mt Charleston
  • Hoover Dam
  • Boulder City

The Thunderbirds are scheduled to fly over the Hoover Dam and its 45,000 sq. ft. American flag at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, as they travel to Washington, D.C., for Salute to America250 celebrations. Assets from this flyover will be added to the link above.

Both flyovers are part of a broader destination-wide summer celebration featuring fireworks, patriotic displays at Hoover Dam, and nationally visible moments across Southern Nevada, underscoring Las Vegas’ role as the country’s Celebration Capital as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary.
