National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day

Executive Director Tom Kovach
LAS VEGAS -- Wednesday, Jan. 9 marked National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day and, this January, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Foundation invites the community to observe and celebrate our officers throughout the month.
To honor the brave members of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and law enforcement agencies throughout the valley, 40 property marquees and/or screens from organizations including Caesars Entertainment, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, Station Casinos, Boyd Gaming, Affinity Gaming and the South Point Hotel Casino & Spa are coming together to Go True Blue in support of their local heroes.
On Jan. 9, 2019, Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) Host Committee Chair Oscar B. Goodman also took time to recognize law enforcement on hand at CES, the consumer technology show, at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
On Jan. 10, 2019, County Commissioners and representatives from The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) Foundation turned the world-famous “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign blue to Go True Blue in support of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The Go True Blue campaign recognizes and supports officers who, day-in and day-out, work hard to keep the community safe. Additionally, it is a way for community members to show support for Metro Police and the strong partnership that exists and continues to grow between officers, companies and residents of Southern Nevada.
