LAS VEGAS -- The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) has been honored with the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). This is the 28th consecutive year the LVCVA has received the honor.

The award represents a significant achievement, reflecting the commitment of the LVCVA’s Finance Department in meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. In order to receive the award, the LVCVA had to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentation. Special recognition was given to LVCVA Financial Analyst Jennifer Curry-Eke, for her exceptional work leading the budget process.

The GFOA established the Distinguished Budget Presentation Awards Program (Budget Awards Program) in 1984 to encourage and assist state and local governments to prepare budget documents of the very highest quality that reflect both the guidelines established by the National Advisory Council on State and Local Budgeting and the GFOA’s best practices on budgeting and then to recognize individual governments that succeed in achieving that goal.

The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving more than 18,000 government finance professionals with the mission of promoting excellence in state and local government financial management.
