Take a Virtual Trip to Las Vegas without Leaving Home with Custom Zoom Backgrounds, Virtual Tours and Experiences

Release Date: 30 Mar 2020   |   Las Vegas
The iconic Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign

LAS VEGAS – With social distancing and work from home regulations in place, more people are relying on video conferencing to stay connected. To take a break from the mundane while away from colleagues, family and friends, Las Vegas has created a series of virtual backgrounds for Zoom, one of the largest videoconferencing providers.

Featuring iconic Las Vegas locations, the customized virtual backdrops allow Zoom users to infuse some fun into their everyday video chats in a way only Las Vegas can. Coworkers can move their nightly happy hour from their kitchens to front and center at the Fountains of Bellagio. Family reunions go from the couch to overlooking the Las Vegas Strip from the High Roller. Friends can still get the party started by spending their Saturday nights on the virtual dancefloor of a Vegas nightclub.

To download the immersive backgrounds and for directions on adding them to a Zoom meeting, please visit www.visitlasvegas.com/hang-like-youre-in-vegas.

The destination also comes to life through an array of other virtual experiences that will transport users from their homes to the Entertainment Capital of the World with the tap of a phone or the click of a button.

Tour the Town

Illuminating your living room with the neon lights of vintage Vegas, The Neon Museum invites users to explore the iconic Vegas landmark through its free web-based app. The app can be accessed via computer or smartphone by visiting www.neonmuseum.app and using the password NEON. Complete with photos, test and audio narration, the app highlights various signs in the Boneyard, the museum’s outdoor exhibition space, as well as popular pieces from Lost Vegas: Tim Burton @ The Neon Museum.

Taking a stroll through Las Vegas’ colorful past, The Mob Museum’s immersive exhibits are just a tap away through the organization’s mobile app, available for download on iOS and Android platforms. History buffs can experience the museum’s world-class interactive journey of organized crime and law enforcement from the palm of their hand and the comfort of their home. Those at home can also follow The Mob Museum on social media to access exclusive new content including virtual tours and educational outreach presentations for students in grades K-12, available the week of March 30.

Set your afternoon up right with Wynn Las Vegas. Every weekday at 2:30 p.m., the elegant resort invites guests "Inside Wynn," through a series of streaming videos on Twitter to showcase how they created the wonder that is Wynn’s art program. Get a behind the scenes look at the pieces behind the registration desk, paintings at SW Steakhouse and sculptures in the North Porte-Cochere and Baccarat Salon. It’s literally your own private tour of one of the most stunning collections in Las Vegas.

Entertainment at Hand

Turning the day into an over-the-top spectacle, Cirque du Soleil fans can enjoy high-quality entertainment from its new digital content hub CirqueConnect, available at cirquedusoleil.com/cirqueconnect. The platform will feature a breathtaking 60-minute special, virtual reality experiences, tutorials from top Cirque artists, music, and much more.

For those missing the dance floor, Park MGM and On the Record will bring their Industry Nights into homes every Wednesday starting April 1. “The Wednesday Spin” will video broadcast live from Park MGM’s Instagram account beginning at 7 p.m., featuring three hours of nonstop beats by a weekly rotation of The Strip’s best turntable talents, all representing Park MGM venues. Anyone can join in the party’s conversation by using the hashtag #VegasFromHome.

Those looking for a Vegas experience unlike any other can enjoy the destination’s virtual reality art program, Vegas: Alter Your Reality™ (VAYR). VAYR is a creative interpretation of the Las Vegas experience, direct from the minds of five distinguished, international artists. Transformed into vibrant and immersive content pieces, their personal narratives are given the ultimate presentation as a virtual reality art collection that consumers can enjoy around the globe. The VAYR artwork is available to view on the Vegas VR app, which is free and available for download on iOS and Android platforms, or on the Visit Las Vegas YouTube channel.
