LVCVA Board Approves tvsdesign / Design Las Vegas to Create Iconic Design for Las Vegas Convention Center Expansion
On Nov. 14, in a historic decision, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) Board of Directors approved a recommendation to retain tvsdesign / Design Las Vegas to provide design services for the Las Vegas Convention Center District Phase Two Expansion project. The decision is a tremendous milestone for a project that will secure Las Vegas as the world’s premier business destination for decades to come. The recommendation of tvsdesign / Design Las Vegas is specific to Phase Two’s $860 million, 1.4 million-square-foot expansion project, which will include at least 600,000 square feet of new, leasable exhibit space. Luxor Unveils Extensive Room Remodel Scheduled for Completion in Q1 2018
Luxor Hotel and Casino recently unveiled its newly remodeled rooms as the hotel continues the redesign of more than 1,700 hotel rooms in its East and West towers. The remodel began in early November and will continue to roll out through Q1 2018. Envisioned by MGM Resorts International Design, the remodeled rooms are inspired by the unique geometric form for which the Luxor is well-known and feature a crisp, natural color palette and modern, efficient design. Dominant colors within the space, including hazy amethyst, deep smoky green, charcoal and fawn, are drawn from the beauty of the desert. Caesars Entertainment Introduces Fly LINQ at the LINQ Promenade
Caesars Entertainment Corporation, owner of The LINQ Promenade, announced the intended addition of Fly LINQ, expected to be the first and only zipline on the Las Vegas Strip. Developed by the team behind the High Roller, the world’s tallest observation wheel, the approximately $20 million Fly LINQ features 10 side-by-side zip lines, capable of simultaneously launching all riders. The experience will be constructed on The LINQ Promenade, the open-air shopping, dining and entertainment district situated at the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. AAA and Keolis Launch Nation’s First Public Self-Driving Shuttle in Downtown Las Vegas
AAA Northern California, Nevada & Utah (AAA) is sponsoring the nation’s first self-driving shuttle pilot project geared specifically for the public. Over the course of a year, the self-driving shuttle aims at providing a quarter-million residents and visitors of Las Vegas with first-hand experience using autonomous vehicle (AV) technology, exposing most riders to the technology for the first time. This pilot builds on Keolis’ limited shuttle launch in downtown Las Vegas in early 2017; the November launch will be the first self-driving vehicle to be fully integrated with a city’s traffic infrastructure. AAA partnered with the city of Las Vegas, the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) and Keolis North America (Keolis), which will operate and maintain the NAVYA Arma fully electric shuttle. Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino Celebrates 10 Years on the Las Vegas Strip with All New Rooms
Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino has completed a $100 million room renovation, pairing dynamic entertainment and dining offerings with 2,496 contemporary new guest rooms and suites. The renovation comes as the resort celebrates 10 years at the center of the Las Vegas Strip. The resort is the first in Caesars Entertainment’s Las Vegas portfolio to have all guest rooms completely renovated as part of a 23,000 Las Vegas hotel room renovation program that will be more than 50% complete by the end of 2017. National Finals Rodeo Returns to Las Vegas
